About the Author

 

 

 

 

     As an award-winning author, anthologist, poet, and former journalist for a community newsletter, Ms. Longpré has spent the better part of her life doing research. Her love of all science-related topics, especially geosciences, has been more than just an interest – it has been a passion since her very young days in Mechanicsville (a hamlet of Ottawa).

 

     Ms. Longpré currently lives in Canada's Capital with husband Richard and their best friend Benji.

Awards

Received the Ottawa Independent Writer's award for a short story entitled: "Maxim-mum Fear". Ceremony was held at the Ottawa National Archives of Canada (LAC) April 21th, 2004 and the awards were presented by Denis St-Jean.

Received the Canadian Author's Association's award for a short story entitled: "Durges in April: An Ode to Champions"Judged and presented by Pamela Wallen.
